FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long should my tan last?
The average result is 7 to 10 days of color. Factors such as skin type, activities, and maintenance can cause your results to vary. Basically as long as a regular tan, if you take care of it!
Is it safe?
Yes. The main ingredient in our sunless tanning product is known as dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is a simple non-toxic sugar. It is often derived from plant sources such as sugar beets and sugar cane.
How long does a tanning session take?
On average, a full body session can take 5 – 10 minutes.
How can I maintain a great color all year round?
Your tan will start to fade as your skin normally exfoliates. Once your tan has completely faded it is ok to start the preparation and treatment all over again.
Can I tan when I’m pregnant?
There are no known side effects from the application of Fantasy Tan. As a precaution you should always consult with your physician before receiving a spray tan or any beauty or skin care application.

How to Get the Best Tan Possible

PRE-TAN PREPARATION
Exfoliate your skin the night before. This promotes an even coverage and lengthens the life of your tan by removing dead skin that would otherwise flake off. Do not injure the skin by overworking it. Wax at least 24 hours before your tanning appointment OR Shave 8 hours before or after post-tan shower. Use a sharp, clean razor with a lubricating product (such as hair conditioner, which should be rinsed off). Remove or avoid wearing make-up and moisturizer to your appointment as this acts as a barrier to the spray and stops the process from working properly. Wear dark, loose clothing and undergarments to your tanning appointment. The cosmetic bronzer may rub off on clothing. It will wash out of most fabrics except for nylons, lycra and silks.

MAINTAINING YOUR TAN
Wait at least 8-12 hours before washing. Shaving is recommended before your tan. However, if needed, (wait until after your post-tan shower) shave with a sharp, clean razor with a lubricating product (such as hair conditioner, which should be rinsed off). Apply moisturizer morning and evening after your post-tan shower. (Avoid moisturizers with AHA’s because they promote exfoliation ie firming lotions). Avoid long hot showers and baths, and scrubbing the skin excessively. Pat your skin dry after bathing or showering. Using bar soap may cause premature fading, liquid or gel soaps work best. Chlorine in swimming pools and hot tubs can remove or shorten the longevity of your tan. Take care when exercising as friction and excess sweat may cause your tan to fade prematurely or unevenly.
